Our recently purchased house is a home in the making (yep, we are living in a project while flipping another house!). Just showing off some of my husband’s recent work:
This is now our son’s room. The built in bookshelf makes a great place to organize his toys and books! But first he had to get the old carpet out, scrape the wallpaper, and refinish the hardwood floors we found under the carpert. 
Fresh paint, refinished hardwood floors, and some fresh trim and voila!
